Want to become a Board Member?

Priority Credit Union is searching for dedicated volunteers from within our membership to help serve on our Board of Directors and/or Supervisory Committee.

As a non-profit financial institution, Priority Credit Union relies on volunteers from the communities we serve to provide direction and oversight.

Volunteering brings the reward of contributing to the financial well-being of our members and the local community. Ideal candidates include working professionals, small business owners, and active retirees who share a commitment to the credit union movement and to Priority Credit Union.

To be eligible to serve on Priority Credit Union's Board of Directors or Supervisory Committee, a prospective candidate must be a member in good standing of Priority Credit Union, at least 18 years of age, willing and able to serve if elected. Background, credit checks, and other regulatory reviews are also conducted as part of the evaluation process. Board members are volunteers and are not paid for their time or service.

The Ideal Board Candidate

Experience in roles focused on financial performance and forecasting as it pertains to implementing strategy

The spirit of volunteerism and a demonstrated understanding of supporting underserved communities

Experience in banking or credit unions, especially with lending products, or within financial education

What is expected from our Board Members?

Board Member Responsibilities:

  • Help determine the strategic direction of the credit union

  • Monitor performance against the strategic plan

  • Provide direction and oversight to meet targets

  • Ensure the safety and soundness of the credit union

  • Hire and evaluate the CEO

Time Commitments:

  • One-year introductory term, Three-year term after

  • Monthly board meetings

  • Committee meetings

  • Planning sessions

  • Preparing for meetings (reading board/committee packets)

  • Training/conferences (Any required travel is paid for by the credit union)
