Our Story
This credit union was created for, and caters to, dedicated individuals. As the name suggests, we make satisfying these people, our members, a Priority. Our members have supported their family and their community for most of their lives and pride themselves on going “above and beyond.”
She is the working mother who has never missed her son’s games…
He is the one people call when they need a strong back during a move…
They are the first ones in and the last ones out most every day, because the job simply has to get done…
The foundation of our brand and the soul of our company is still rooted in our Mission and Core Values.
Mission
To foster the economic wellbeing and development of our community by delivering affordable financial products and services to all members, including the underserved, for every stage of their lives.
Core Values
We are committed to a set of core values that ensures a member-centric business focus. We know that through Honesty, we will gain the community’s Trust and a better understanding of the challenges that each member faces. This understanding helps us to adjust our practices to provide the Reliability and Dedication that the community expects from our “work force” members, and that our members, in turn, expect from us.
Brand Promise
We will strive, daily, to exceed member expectations. To provide a level of service simply not found at other financial institutions. To deliver on this service promise, we will leverage our processes and make the investments necessary to provide the reliable financial technology that our community expects.
Because of our heritage and our understanding of central Florida’s working communities, we are uniquely positioned to build a lasting relationship with each and every member.
Whenever and however our members need us … we deliver!
Our History
On July 22, 1930, 44 employees of the Orlando Post Office formed together to found Central Florida Postal Credit Union. The credit union was led by Harold F. Anderson, one of the founding members and also the credit union’s first president.
Many financial institutions have merged, changed or even disappeared over the course of their existence, but Priority Credit Union (PCU), formerly known as, Central Florida Postal Credit Union can pride itself in staying true to the credit union concept. The “benefit” of competitive rates for investing and lending are still the main focus to assist in building a better financial foundation for its members.
The mission of PCU is: “To foster the growth of our employees and, as a team, deliver financial advice and products to the people of our community for each stage of their lives” and with years of history combined with a bright future the delivery of dreams seems to continue. The first president, Harold F. Anderson said in an interview on the opening date in 1930: “This organization has a fine start and should be a great help to the employees of the…post office”. 89 years have passed and PCU is experiencing a “fine” start and with no intentions of reaching the finish line within the next 100 years…
